Shut It Down NYC is not just a protest group fighting against injustice, police brutality and a system that targets black and brown community's with impunity!  

"Shut It Down" is a group that is so much more at it's heart is a strong and un-waving need to protect and serve there streets, there blocks, and community, which is why for the last 3 years as of December 2020, they have setting up food servers, giving to those in need food, clothing, books.

August 31st 2020 marked the first outside food serve for the community since the New York was hit by Covid19, leaving many with out jobs, resources and the bare minimum to service and care for there families, even though were not able to be on the streets serving the people they were busy organizing meals, clothing drops, and other need services to residents who could not venture out a population over looked and neglected by New York's administration.

Workers, Unions and City Council members come together to remember the 146 workers who lost there lives 106 years ago in the Shirtwaist Factory Triangle Fire Today March 24th, 2017 Marked the 106th Commemoration of The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire at the corner of Washington Place and Greene Street, NYC were 146 workers had to jump from the windows of the building to escaped the fire and smoke, leading to there deaths on the streets below-Credit: Mark Apollo/Hashtag Occupy Media The Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire of 1911– 146 people died most of whom were young, immigrant women and  was a pivotal moment in our nation’s history.
