Today the New York Immigration Coalition and Interfaith groups from around the New York City area held a vigil & Jummah Prayer for Immigrant Communities.

The event attended by around 250 people was represented by faith groups, New York City council members and those working for immigration rights and freedom, after the vigil and pray the group formed a human chain around the NYC Federal Build were the department of immigrations is located. The New York Immigration Coalition, Majlis Al Shura: The Islamic Leadership Council of Greater NY, and the Inter-Faith Clergy of New York City. Came together to stand in solidarity with there Muslim and immigrant brothers and sisters. Together, they will push back against any attacks from the Trump Administration. Muslims are our neighbors, our fellow New Yorkers, our fellow Americans and we vow to support them.

Workers, Unions and City Council members come together to remember the 146 workers who lost there lives 106 years ago in the Shirtwaist Factory Triangle Fire Today March 24th, 2017 Marked the 106th Commemoration of The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire at the corner of Washington Place and Greene Street, NYC were 146 workers had to jump from the windows of the building to escaped the fire and smoke, leading to there deaths on the streets below-Credit: Mark Apollo/Hashtag Occupy Media The Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire of 1911– 146 people died most of whom were young, immigrant women and  was a pivotal moment in our nation’s history.
